»GELBE KARTE. 350 Gelbtöne«, 2013 Gouache auf Papier, 350 Karten und Karton, Bleistift, Projektor, zwei Platten; Größe variabel, ca. 150 x 150 x 150 cm.

Die Arbeit »Gelbe Karte« ist 2013 entstanden. Auf karteikartengroßen Bögen habe ich Gelbtöne gemischt, das Mischen als freies assoziatives Spiel. Die Farbtonpalette der 350 Karten reicht von Gelbtonstufen bis zu Abmischungen, die nur noch einen geringfügigen Gelbanteil aufweisen. Im Sport signalisiert die gelbe Karte den Beteiligten Mitspielern eine Verwarnung. Ich verstehe meine Arbeit »Gelbe Karte« als Malerei; Gelb ist die hellste Farbe der drei Grundfarben, sie ist die Farbe des Lichtes und der Energie. Auch verstehe ich sie als einen »ironischen Warnhinweis« für einen Kulturbetrieb, der durch Einsparungsmaßnahmen, Digitalisierung und zunehmende Regulierungsansprüche seinen freiheitlichen, kreativen Denkraum verliert. The work "Yellow Card" was created in 2013. I mixed yellow tones on sheets the size of index cards, mixing as a free associative game. The colour palette of the 350 cards ranges from shades of yellow to mixes that only have a slight yellow component. In sport, the yellow card signals a warning to the players involved. I understand my work "Yellow Card" as painting; yellow is the lightest colour of the three primary colours, it is the colour of light and energy. I also understand it as an "ironic warning" for a culture industry that is losing its free, creative thinking space due to cost-cutting measures, digitalisation and increasing demands for regulation.
