In ihrer künstlerischen Arbeit greift Ute Ostermann Phänomene ihrer Umwelt auf und stellt diese durch Verschiebung und Auflösung von Proportionen in neue Zusammenhänge. Es entstehen Kompositionen, die sich an den Gesetzmäßigkeiten und Formen der Neuen Musik orientieren. Begrifflichkeiten wie Raum und Zeit, Struktur und Rhythmus, Geräusch und Stille, Schwingung und Dynamik werden mit den Mitteln von Malerei und Zeichnung in eine eigene Formensprache übersetzt. Das Bild wird zur Partitur.

In her artistic work, Ute Ostermann takes up phenomena from her environment and places them in new contexts by shifting and dissolving proportions. Compositions are created that are oriented towards the laws and forms of new music. Concepts such as space and time, structure and rhythm, noise and silence, vibration and dynamics are translated into a formal language of their own using the means of painting and drawing. The picture becomes a score.
